It’s all change in the new Captain America film with new and familiar faces set to shake up the franchise.
Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson picks up the shield and takes over the title role in the movie due out next year.
His partner in crimefighting will be Hollywood legend Harrison Ford, who steps into the role of Thunderbolt Ross, previously played by the late William Hurt. In this movie, titled Brave New World, Ross has become President of the United States.
Liv Tyler returns to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the President’s daughter, Betsy Ross.
There’s a change behind the camera too with the Russo brothers, who had directed the previous two Captain America films, handing the reigns to newcomer Julius Onah.
Expect some cameos at the end because the events of Brave New World will serve to set up the next MCU film, Thunderbolts, in which Ross will work with a group of returning antiheroes including Sebastian Stan’s Winter Soldier, David Harbour’s Red Guardian and Yelena Belova played by Florence Pugh.
