Three new Star Wars films have been announced as the space saga gets set to return to the big screen following the recent focus solely on streaming shows.
The first one will be an origin of the Force story, a kind of biblical epic set 25,000 years before the original trilogy. That one will be directed by James Mangold, who recently made Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
Then the middle film of the new trilogy, to be directed by Dave Filoni, will bring together storylines and characters from the current Disney Plus shows, The Mandalorian, Ahsoka and The Book of Boba Fett.
Finally, Daisy Ridley will return as Rey, now a Jedi Master training a new generation of heroes, in a movie directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and set 15 years after The Rise of Skywalker.
No titles or release dates have yet been announced for these new adventures set in a galaxy far, far away.
