
“I’ve always had big dreams, and my education played a huge part in me realizing them,” says Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o. Now Kenya-raised actress – who has a master’s degree from leading American university Yale – is helping others get the same opportunity. She recently handed out $10,000 scholarships to 40 young women of color looking to pursue business management, marketing, writing, and STEM studies. The empowering move was made possible by theWrite Her Future, an equality in an education program on which she’s partnered with Lancome and the NAACP.“Supporting young women as they pursue higher education is a meaningful way to help level the playing field in society,” explains the movie star.
