The Highlander franchise is getting a film reboot with Superman star Henry Cavill playing the immortal title character and John Wick director Chad Stahelski behind the camera.
Stahelksi sees franchise potential in the reimaging with sequel films and spin-off TV shows, just like what happened with the original 1986 movie that starred Christopher Lambert.
“This is rich mythology and we have room to grow the property,” said the filmmaker.
Highlander tells the story of 500-year-old Scottish swordsman Connor MacLeod dealing with the burden of immortality.
