Lights, Camera, Legacy: The Queen of Big Screen

Kimberley Kates has always been a forward-thinker in the entertainment world—but now she’s pausing to reflect.
It’s a landmark moment: 20 years as CEO of Big Screen Entertainment Group. Under her leadership, the Los Angeles–based company has evolved from traditional filmmaking roots into a powerhouse of innovation at the intersection of content and technology.
A Hollywood veteran mentored by Martin Scorsese, Kimberley first stepped into the spotlight as one of the princesses in Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure. After a successful acting career in film and television, she shifted into producing, eventually taking the reins at Big Screen.
Since then, she has spearheaded projects like Dirty Love, Babysitter Wanted and Forget About It, taken the company public, launched a proprietary streaming platform, and built key partnerships with Netflix, Amazon and more.
Her vision also helped bring international cinema to new audiences, including producing a tribute video from Scorsese himself for Song of the Phoenix—a heartfelt gift to legendary Chinese director Wu Tian-Ming.
Most recently, Kimberley shared her insights on beauty and reinvention with a powerful speech at Pure Cell, a leading regenerative medicine center in Pasadena.
As Big Screen moves boldly into its next chapter, one thing remains clear: Kimberley’s blend of heart, grit and innovation continues to shape the future of entertainment.
She said: “To build something that lasts, you must lead with love, evolve with vision, and never forget the magic that started it all.”
