The cultural exchange between China and Hollywood has been celebrated for each of the past 17 years with the Chinese American Film Festival’s Golden Angel Awards, which are staged in California and screened to a vast TV audience back in China.
At the lates t ceremony, held in San Gabriel, CA, in November 2021, the winning projects included recent US films which have hit really big in China such as Fast 9, Free Guy and Godzilla vs Kong.
And there was reason to celebrate too for Big Screen Entertainment Group, which has a proud history of partnerships with Chinese filmmakers.
Two of the company’s senior figures, Chief Executive Kimberley Kates and Head of Development Sandro Monetti, were invited to present the best supporting actor and best supporting actress award from the stage.
Other f i lm execut ives handing out prizes on the night included former Fox Enter tainment chairman Bill Mechanic and ex-TriStar Pictures chairman Mike Medavoy, together with a collection of senior politicians and film stars.
