Seven-time Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton is producing a blockbuster new movie which will show what it’s like to drive a Grand Prix race car.
To capture the experience, he is refining the same lightweight camera system used in the cockpits of the jets in Top Gun: Maverick.
Also on board from that film are director Joseph Kosinski and cinematographer Claudio Miranda, bringing their experience of using six tiny cameras with spherical lenses tucked into the planes.
For the as yet untiled Formula One film – which will star Brad Pitt – they are coming up with even smaller, lighter cameras to put around the drivers that will capture top quality images as the cars speed around the track.
Hamilton is working closely with the filmmakers in pre-production with the aim of making the most authentic car racing movie ever.
