Considering it is based on the early life of its director Steven Spielberg, you’d have thought this
coming-of-age movie would have more excitement, drama, emotion and heart. But it’s strangely
lacking in a lot of those qualities for most of its two and a half-hour running time and an over-the-top performance from the normally excellent Michelle
Williams doesn’t help.
